Teton Valley Ski Real Estate

Teton Valley located in Idaho is like everywhere else in the world, it has become more and more technologically advanced and there seems to be people everywhere.  For every plot of land that has not been built upon there are ten contractors with big dreams for the land.  It’s amazing how much land is out there that is public land but is impacted by people in some way.  For instance, grazing, hikers, campers, skiers, and mountain bikers all impact the surrounding land and animals in some way, yet we rarely think of the consequences until we come face to face with them.

There is a lot of beautiful ski real estate that has already been constructed in and around the area and what is built from here on out should be built carefully.  While there is seemingly a lot of area that can still be littered with ski homes and ski condos attention needs to be paid to the fact that it is up to us to preserve the integrity of the land.  If we keep building and building we will no longer want to visit the majestic Teton Valley.  There is a reason that people are paying top dollar to be near the mountains, in the hidden hills, and in places far and away from the hustle and bustle of the city.  Getting away from it all is part of the reason visiting the Teton Valley is so popular. That is why we must ensure that when we construct ski condos and tourist attractions it is in the best interest not only of the economy but in what the Teton Valley of Idaho is all about.

Many bikers and hikers will tell you that they attempt to hike or ride on paths and trails  they have been using for a long time only to find they are no longer there.  If they are there, they may have scary run ins with sheep dogs, sheep, or electric fences that serve to keep the cattle of one rancher away from the sheep of another.  This can be disheartening to those that have grown up in the area and have great memories on some of the trails.  Of course, this is a good use of public land, but it is one more reason that building must be done with care.  It’s not that more ski condos, ski homes, and ski real estate cannot be bought and sold, but it must be handled with much planning and foresight.  For everything that we take away from the land we have to find ways to give back.

This can be a difficult balance to strike, but the Teton Valley is known for its beauty first and foremost and it’s skiing, too.  Skiing and natural beauty can co-exist if we ensure that all of the ski real estate is approached in a specific, land friendly way.  If the land is preserved people will continue to visit the Teton Valley to ski and enjoy winter recreation for a long time to come.
