El Jebel was once planned to be the place to find beautiful and affordable ski homes, or at least homes that will put you near all of the best skiing in Colorado. It seems as though the focus on the affordable housing has shifted as a new project, known as Shadowrock, gets underway. Homes in the area will be very high end with prices starting right around $600,000. A well known real estate firm from Texas will be building the first phase of the 100 town homes or ski condos. The land was purchased by Madison Partners LLC from Kevin and Tammy Tucker in 2005 and has been given the go ahead for the project from all of the appropriate government entities.
There will be four different town homes that will be offered in the development with the smallest offering just over 1,660 square feet and the largest being almost 2,600 square feet. Of course, all of the homes being built will be high end, considering the price tag mentioned above, and they will contain great features such as stainless steel appliances, hardwood floors, and great kitchens. These town homes will be marketed heavily toward those that are looking for ski homes or ski real estate of some sort as well as those that are looking for a great permanent residence.
The first 30 townhouses will be completed by the summer of 2007, just in time for people to get moved into their new ski homes before the ski season of 2007! Of course, reservations are already being taken for the homes that are being built now, so those that are interested should not wait until the completion date. All of the ski homes will take more than three years to complete, so it’s a good idea to get in now. If you put your down payment in now you can choose your unit when they are nearing completion or you can choose not to buy and receive a full refund. The down payment is a good idea if you believe that you would like some great ski real estate in the beautiful area of El Jebel.
While many are disappointed that Shadowrock are so high end and not all that affordable for some, realtors in the area say that the prices are not at all out of line with homes in the area. The homes in Shadowrock are asking about $360 per square foot while homes in the area often ask as much as $378, so buyers are actually getting a great deal for their beautiful El Jebel ski homes located in Shadowrock!
Those looking for great ski real estate will find the area desirable. The reason for this is that it is located close to great restaurants, shopping, entertainment, and all of the services you might need. A town center that will offer more shopping and dining options is currently being planned, which will just enhance the attractiveness of the area to prospective buyers.
